Aspen achieve greener status - The Aspen Group has been awarded the ISO 14001 certificate for its commitment to improving the company’s environmental performance.

Aspen has implemented an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) which is designed to address the balance between maintaining profitability and reducing a business’s environmental impact.

Clean energy cash back scheme - Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) were introduced to Great Britain on 1st April 2010. The scheme requires energy suppliers to make regular payments to householders and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar (PV) panels or wind turbines. The scheme guarantees a minimum payment for all electricity generated by the system, as well as a separate payment for the electricity exported to grid.

Renewable heat incentive - The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is designed to provide financial support that encourages individuals, communities and businesses to switch from using fossil fuel for heating, to renewables such as wood fuel. The Government is currently consulting on the design of the incentive which they are proposing to introduce in April 2011.
